The Situation

Our client was running into issues with their FastPath implementation partner and struggling to make progress.

Our customer, a multinational food and beverage manufacturer, purchased FastPath and was attempting to go live with the assistance of a partner. Their end goal was to enable full utilization of Fastpath Assure's Identity Manager for secure provisioning within their SAP Production environment.

After months of back and forth, they were unhappy with the lack of progress and began the process of seeking out a new partner to assist. At this point, FastPath initiated conversations between the customer and MajorKey, leading them to enagage our team to resume the implementation.

The Business Impact

Failure to go live was heightening security risks, operational inefficiencies, and compliance issues.

Without the secure and efficient provisioning of access through Fastpath Assure’s Identity Manager, our customer was facing heightened risk of unauthorized access and potential compliance violations due to a lack of proper Separation of Duties (SoD) and Sensitive Access controls.

Additionally, the absence of optimized approval rules and a clear role ownership structure opened the door to delays and errors in access management, affecting productivity. Without proper training and support for the team, maintaining the system post-go-live would be challenging, leading to further operational risks and increased costs.

The Solution

The MajorKey successfully got the implementation back on track.

After being referred to MajorKey by FastPath, our customer engaged with us in a two week engagement to get their implementation back on schedule. This project focused on confirming leading practice processes for Approval Rule methodologies, creating Role Ownership Groups, and establishing Role Owners to Roles relationships. Approval Rules were configured and tested in development to ensure successful Separation of Duties (SoD) checks and provisioning.

After testing, the configuration was replicated in production. A training guide was created for requestors and approvers, and the support team was enabled to maintain the system post-go-live, leading to final approval for the official launch.

The MajorKey Approach

Our unique approach gave our client the confidence they needed.

Our approach is encompassed by the following values:

  • Process-focused, not tool-focused. We are a vendor-agnostic provider. In other words, when working with clients we focus on business processes and outcomes rather than pushing a specific tool.
  • Structured project management. We rarely miss deadlines and always stay under budget.
  • Organizational change management. We dedicate significant time to helping the organization work through new policies and procedures associated with a migration. This includes end user training by roles and responsibilities, assistance with sponsorship adoption and roll out procedures, communication templates for deployment, and more.
  • Agile development style. Our developers seek client feedback early and often throughout the life of a project to ensure client satisfaction after deployment.
  • User acceptance training. We have a highly structured, clearly defined process for making sure the tool is driving value for the business users. This reduces post-live issues and encourages tool utilization after deployment.
  • Post-live and managed services. We provide 24x7 on-call support for the most critical issues that may arise following a deployment.
